Gus Chikamba

Chairman/Executive Director & Founder

Gus is the Chairman, Founder & Executive Director at Africa Outreach USA. His previous engagements include serving as Team Manager at Capital Group, Business Unit Manager at IMF Srl. and Group Chairman & CEO, Lifestyle Plus Group a company that he founded. Gus is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, basketball coach and community outreach veteran with 15+ years working in Sub Sahara, Africa including working at GTZ, (German Agency) for Technical Cooperation, Zimbabwe.

Madeline Chikamba, (MD)

Co- Founder/Board Member

Madeline is a first year resident doctor at St Vincent Hospital. She graduated from IUPUI School of Medicine in 2018. She served as Director of Rehabilitation at American Seniors Communities, Retirement Home. She is the Co-Founder & Board Member at Africa Outreach USA. Background includes fifteen years as Occupational Therapy including working in Sub-Sahara Africa at Harare and Chitungwiza Hospitals, Zimbabwe.

Cindy McClough

Cindy serves as a Manager in BGBC Partners’ Tax Services Department. She specializes in working with individuals, trusts, and small businesses in the areas of tax planning and compliance, personal property tax return filings, and IRS 1099 reporting. Cindy has more than eighteen years of public accounting experience.

Barb has held various leadership roles in different organizations, primarily in areas related to talent management and organizational effectiveness. She is currently Vice President, Human Resources at the Capital Group and based in Indianapolis, IN. Barb is involved in other non-profits both locally and internationally focused on accountability and empowerment through education to drive long-term sustainable change which has driven her interest in Africa Outreach USA..

David Knight

Dave has 13 years of real estate industry expertise & leadership helping hundreds of families realize their dreams. He is now working with Keller Williams. Dave has been with the Scott Smith Realty Group for over 7 years. Dave believes in building relationships with his clients, giving them information to make good informative decisions. He is a member of the Decatur Township Advisory Board and serves as President. Dave served as an elder at Valley Mills Christian Church for 12 years and as Chairman the last 10 years.

Alex Reiff

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Alex Reiff is an accomplished musician and business owner. A proud graduate of Pike High School and the University of Indianapolis, Alex has toured the country as a drummer with numerous artists for the past 10 years. He is an in demand live performer that is also a founding member of The Hunter Smith Band. Alex also owns RNG Unlimited, a canvas art manufacturing and distribution firm founded in 2011.

Sharon O'Brien

Sharon has been an advocate for Africa Outreach USA since 2007 after meeting with Gus Chikamba. Her husband of over 40 years is NBA and college coach, Jim O'Brien. Sharon earned a B.A. in English from St. Joseph's University and a M.A. in Education from the University of Oregon. Her career path included various teaching and administrative positions as well as a venture in the insurance industry. A long time civic volunteer, she currently serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Joseph's University and on the Board of Ken's Krew, Inc. She is the proud mother of three grown children and a doting grandmother for three grandsons.

Catlin began his internship with the Pacers in September of 2002. He served as video coordinator of the women's basketball team at Michigan State University during the 03-04 season. Catlin was hired fulltime at Pacers Sports and Entertainment in August 2004 for a dual role as Head Video Coordinator for Indiana Fever and Assistant Video Coordinator for Indiana Pacers. He was promoted to Head Video Coordinator for the the Pacers in August of 2007, a position he held for 5 years before being promoted to current position of Pro Scout in August of 2012.

Chris Ramsay

Coaching Staff Director

Chris Ramsay coaches and manages middle school and high school basketball programs in Connecticut, USA. Ramsay is founding commissioner of the Farmington Basketball Summer League since 2003. Ramsay developed curriculum for certifying coaches for Africa Outreach USA. With his father, Hall of Fame coach Jack Ramsay, Chris produced and directed Uptempo Basketball, a widely distributed basketball instructional video. Ramsay is a board certified basketball official. Ramsay has covered the NBA for ESPN since 1997.

Emily Palmer

Emily works at Capital Group and specializes in Retirement Plans. She has served as Education Director for a nonprofit where she developed sustainable programming that helped develop the opportunity for career apprenticeships with the youth they serve. She is a former science teacher and soccer coach. Emily is an active international traveler and multi-sport athlete. She has a heart for nonprofits that work to support the whole person, keep a long-term focus, and empower through education..

Agile software developer offering 0ver 15 years of experience in leading and working with teams in mission critical projects. Skilled in all phases of the software development cycle; expert in translating business requirements into technical solutions and keen about quality, usability, security and scalability. Background includes working with non-profit and for-profit sectors across Africa, Europe, New Zealand & the USA.

Corrine is a student at Carmel High School, Indiana. She is the founder and current President of Carmel High School-Africa Outreach USA Club. The club has more than 50 members. With over 5000 students at the school, the club has successfully raised enough financial resources to help pave a dirt basketball court at a rural school in Zimbabwe. Future plans include doing a school wide sports gear collection drive and selling bracelets to raise additional funds towards building more basketball courts at rural schools in Zimbabwe.

Thomas N. Hutchinson

Thomas N. Hutchinson is the Chair for Krieg DeVault's Health Care Practice Group and serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. He also serves as the firm’s hiring partner as Chair of the Talent Acquisition Committee. Mr. Hutchinson regularly works with for-profit and non-profit clients across the country, including health care startups, surgery centers, physician practice groups, and hospitals and health systems. His experience includes assisting clients with clinical integration strategies, helping health systems acquire physician practices, and developing new health care delivery models, such as on-site employer health centers, wellness clinics, and concierge and self-pay practices. He is past Chair of the Health Law Sections of both the Indiana State Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association..

Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Alexandra earned a full Division 1 basketball scholarship. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with BA in Political Science and completed her Master’s from the Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations while working as a Graduate Assistant with the Women’s Basketball team. Her passion for education, sport and community service earned her selections as finalists for in 2012 as well as one of Seton Hall's nominees for BIG EAST Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2013, later advancing as a National Finalist for the NCAA Woman of the Year.

Born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut and once identified as an at-risk youth, Ulysses Garcia believes all kids are at-promise. Ulysess is the Director & Head Coach for Connecticut ATTACK AAU Basketball. Once identified as an at-risk youth, Ulysses is passionate about mentoring and connecting students to a greater potential. He has served in several capacities including as; Senior Consultant for Breakthrough Education Strategies, Consultant for The Flippen Group, in Texas, and Member of the National Basketball Team of Puerto Rico.

Ashlee Trebilcock

Ashlee grew up in Southern California and earned a full ride basketball scholarship to UCLA before transferring to Ohio State as a shooting guard. After coaching at the collegiate level for two years in Ohio, she received another basketball scholarship to Southampton Solent University in England were she played for the university team while completing a master’s degree in business. Ashlee completed a professional season as player/head coach for the senior women’s team in Tasmania, Australia. Presently she coaches youth travel teams based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. She has a passion for using basketball as a tool to gain life skills and is eager to volunteer her time and expertise to help those who it benefits most.

Edmond graduated from Post University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology degree. A four year All Western New York Athlete for Basketball at Kensington High School, Ed played at Alfred State College, Georgia College and State University before going pro for Belfast Star, in Ireland. He is a Brother in the International Fraternity of Freemasonry & a member of Unity Lodge 148, in New Britain, CT. Edmond is an advisor to the International Order of DeMolay & Rainbow Youth Groups, International Baccalaureate Academy Magnet School Student Government Council, City of New Britain Juvenile Review Board, State of Connecticut Gang Intelligence Unit, the school-prison pipeline initiate project and Trauma/Delinquency collaborative. He speaks to college students about Cultural Competency, Workplace Diversity, & Disproportionate Minority challenges. Ed is the first Probation Officer in 30 years to receive the prestigious National Law Day Liberty bell Award (2011), & State of Connecticut Mason of the Year (2014).
